Learning to write mathematical proofs in college seemed to unlock a passion for writing in general, something I’ve stuck with ever since. The portfolio below shows highlights from writing I’ve done, along with other content I’ve developed and projects I’ve been involved in.
Math Education Writing
Much of my professional work has pertained to math education. My published articles span math assessment, math fluency, rigor in math, math intervention, the history of math, and more. Listed here are selections that showcase different subtopics, audiences, and tones.

General Education Writing
Over my career, I’ve studied and written about many aspects of K–12 education. As marketing director at HMH, I managed a team of copywriters and served as executive editor for HMH’s award-winning company blog from 2019–2026.

The specific work I did depended on the product. I’ve written and edited components such as textbook pages, online resources, assessment items, teacher scripting, video games, and interactive simulations. I’ve also worked on product management, standards alignment, marketing, and other curriculum product-related tasks.

I’ve been involved in educational video development throughout my career. At Scholastic and later HMH, I edited and eventually wrote scripts for Math at Work, a classroom web series that shows the math behind high-interest careers.

Not all of my published work has pertained to education. I contain multitudes! In addition to side projects I’ve taken on in my life, I independently publish The Blankman List (4000+ subscribers, profiled in the New York Groove) a monthly newsletter of things to do in NYC.
